These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of FileShrinkr at fileshrinkr.com, including the image compressor, editor, Base64 tools, blog, and related pages. By using the site you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Service description

FileShrinkr provides free, browser- and server-assisted tools for image compression, conversion, resizing, PDF export, Base64 encode/decode, and related editorial content. Features may change, be limited, or become temporarily unavailable without notice. The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

Eligibility

You must be able to form a binding contract under applicable law. If you use FileShrinkr on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Upload or process illegal content, malware, or material that infringes others’ intellectual property or privacy rights
• Attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse engineer, or probe the service beyond normal use
• Circumvent rate limits, security controls, or access restrictions
• Use automated scraping that harms site availability or violates robots rules for non-public endpoints
• Misrepresent affiliation with FileShrinkr or Prabhat Barai

You are solely responsible for the images and data you upload, paste, or download, and for complying with exam portals, employer policies, and local law.

Your content and intellectual property

You retain ownership of your images and Base64 payloads. By uploading or processing content you grant us a limited, temporary license to process that content solely to provide the requested feature (for example compress, convert, or merge). We do not claim ownership of your files. Site branding, code, and editorial articles remain owned by Prabhat Barai or respective licensors.

No warranty

We strive for reliable processing but do not warrant uninterrupted service, error-free output, or that compressed files will meet any third-party portal’s unpublished rules. Quality, dimensions, and file size depend on your inputs and settings. Always verify downloads before submitting applications or publishing.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Prabhat Barai and FileShrinkr are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, or opportunity arising from use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of (a) amounts you paid us for the service in the prior three months (if any) or (b) zero if the service is free. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases our liability is limited to the minimum permitted by law.

Advertising and third-party services

The site may display Google AdSense ads on selected pages and may use Google Analytics. Third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party content or practices. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Indemnity

You agree to defend and hold harmless Prabhat Barai from claims arising out of your misuse of the service, your content, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

Termination

We may suspend or restrict access if we reasonably believe you are abusing the service or violating these Terms. You may stop using the site at any time.

Changes

We may update these Terms periodically. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
